Privacy policy
In short: this website sets no cookies, uses no tracking or analytics and loads no fonts or scripts from third-party servers. Personal data, mainly your IP address, is only processed to deliver the pages and protect them against attacks.

2. Hosting and delivery via Cloudflare
The website is delivered via Cloudflare, Inc., 101 Townsend St, San Francisco, CA 94107, USA, which processes data on my behalf under a data processing agreement pursuant to Art. 28 GDPR.
When you open a page, Cloudflare processes technically necessary data, in particular:
- your IP address
- date and time of the request
- the page requested and the amount of data transferred
- the previously visited page (referrer), if your browser sends it
- browser, operating system and device type (user agent)
The purpose is to deliver the website and keep it stable and secure, for example by detecting and blocking attacks. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR; my legitimate interest is a secure, fast and reliable website. I do not analyse this data, build user profiles from it or combine it with other data.
Data may be transferred to the USA. Cloudflare is certified under the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework, which is covered by an adequacy decision of the European Commission (Art. 45 GDPR). The data processing agreement also contains the EU standard contractual clauses (Art. 46 GDPR). See the Cloudflare privacy policy for details.
3. No cookies, no tracking
I do not set cookies or similar identifiers. There is no analytics, no advertising and no embedded social media content. The fonts Bricolage Grotesque, Inter and JetBrains Mono are hosted on this server; loading them does not connect to Google or other font providers.
4. Storage in your browser
If you switch dark mode, the page stores your choice in your browser's local storage (entry “nh-theme”). It stays on your device and is not transmitted. This storage is strictly necessary for the function you requested (§ 25(2) no. 2 TDDDG). You can delete it by clearing the site data in your browser.
5. Contact by email
If you email me, I process your email address and the content of your message to reply. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interest in replying) or Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR where a contract is concerned. I delete messages once they are no longer needed, unless statutory retention periods apply.
6. Links to other websites
This page links to my projects, to GitHub and to Apple's App Store. Merely visiting this website does not send any data to these providers. Only when you click a link does the respective provider process data under its own responsibility.
7. Your rights
Under the GDPR you have the right of access (Art. 15), rectification (Art. 16), erasure (Art. 17), restriction of processing (Art. 18) and data portability (Art. 20). An informal email to nico@stark-webdesign.de is enough.
Right to object: where I process data on the basis of Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR, you may object at any time on grounds relating to your particular situation (Art. 21 GDPR).

8. No obligation, no automated decisions
You are not obliged to provide any data. Without technically processing your IP address, however, the website cannot be delivered. No automated decision-making or profiling takes place.
